aged 14 i didn't know the term 'vector graphic', but that's exactly what i was creating.

my presentations at school were always clearly above my colleagues.

look, i know this is ancient history but...

i worked on an acer 286 desktop, 2MB RAM, 20MB hard disk. the application was jetsetter (monochrome svg app), running under MS DOS 5.

you know, back then, there were only 2 apps i really enjoyed working with, because they were so useful and because i was so productive using them.

wordperfect 5.1 and jetsetter.

despite old and slow technology, i quickly produced work of high quality. this verifies to me the importance of creativity and vision.

== who has these and maintains them and, despite material limitations, will win.

==

== study nature: == enjoy the sunrise, climb in trees...

== study how shadows are cast: == on a sunny day, watch the ground beneath the trees.

== practice drawing and painting with real materials: == we can make charcoal, squeeze berries, use coloured earth, scrape off rust, do chemistry with widely available chemicals.

== develop your powers of vision and composition: == by doing, doing, doing.
