I am a graphics freelancer and IT professional. I write tutorials for the web. I use open source software where possible. I speak geek.
--- Graphics design has ALWAYS had my fullest attention. I try to work with open source solutions for graphics design mainly. If that brings too many limitations for what I am trying to achieve, I look for freeware. Only after that do I turn to the commercial products. So far I don't do that too often, as I am quite happy with the current open source solutions. Of course each application comes with its own quirks. I found it mainly requires some persistence to learn to work with a new program and many users give up using a program because of lack of beginner level tutorials. I hope my beginner level tutorials for Inkscape at least will close this gap for Inkscape slowly.
