It sets the origin of the document to the top left corner of the page. This finally makes the coordinates that a user can see in the interface match the ones that are saved in the SVG data (unit conversions/transformations may be required), and makes working in Inkscape more comfortable for people who are used to this more standard behavior. The old behavior can be reactivated in the preferences, at <code>Edit → Preferences → Interface</code> (disable 'Origin in upper left with y-axis pointing down'). |
