While currently viewed as an animation tool, Flash began as a vector-drawing tool for tablets running Go Corporation's PenPoint OS, as FutureWave SmartSketch. Early on it was ported to the Mac OS and Windows, and then re-worked to be an animation tool named Futurewave Splash Animator.
