Inkscape binaries are provided for the following platforms:
Official binary distributions
- Linux
- Windows Me, NT, 2000, XP (Windows 95, 98, 98se just until version 0.41)
- Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and later; Starting with the 0.42 release
If your favorite OS (we are thinking of Solaris, Plan9, FreeBSD) isn't listed above, you can help by building your own packages or compiling from source.
Note: Support for Windows is dependent on Gtk, and it is not clear that Windows 9x will be supported indefinitely.
Note: Should we regard certain distributions, perhaps Debian, Gentoo and SuSE Community Edition as 'Tier One' and always provide qualified install packages for these, leaving the rest to be covered by Autopackage
