As a new inkscape user, I have little background in using Illustrator. I am happy to now have a vector package that I can share things easily with others (I use xfig).
I do have this stack of .AI files which I can't convert. I had paid graphics artists to create them... stuff like business cards, and corporate logos, which I just need to do minor tweaks to.
A wonderful thing would be if there were people willing to open .AI files and save in an inkscape compatible .SVG format. I'd pay for this service.
