For auto lines between shapes these should also be able to be auto curved or manually Beziered.

"Text Annotation: All objects are easily annotated with a text box whose properties (position, size, rotation etc.) follows those of the annotated object. "
"Annotating" shapes can already be accomplished by grouping a text object with a shape. While it would be nice to have a text field, I think that bundling a name space with a shape is a stretch for the purpose of Inkscape as it can already be done another way.
