Man..sometimes I really get a kick in the head reminder of how little technical knowhow I have regarding new stuff that I know can help me in my work.
I am a silkscreen printer by trade and have always and probably will always continue to actually draw all of my line designs.
Currently I draw a line picture with shading in black on white paper.it looks like coloring book picture.
Now I scan this art and print it out on a large format inkjet printer on clear film. Then I go back to the stone age....I overlay "amberlith" maylar masking film over the line art in as many layers as I need colors for. Then I hand cut color seperations for the line art below from the "amberlith" and then use each layer created to expose my silk screens for printing.
I need step by step help in creating color layers from my bitmap line art image.
Literally I need help coloring in my art.
The ultimate goal is to be able to print out actual size, 4 different components of the same art design..1 for the line art and up to three more printouts in black on transparent film repesenting the colored areas of each color.
The colored areas shapes must bleed under the line art to ensure no gaps between line and color.
I am needing the most gentle and thurough guidence in everyday lingo.
Once I get a pragmatic grip...I'll never let go.
